Wechsel Donna is the spacious evolution of the BELLA tent. With a sleeping area of 210 x 125 – 150 x 95 cm (L x W x H), the inner tent offers enough space to comfortably accommodate two people and their luggage. Thanks to the external poles, the tent is not only quick to setup, but can also be pitched regardless of the weather. The freestanding construction allows the tent to be moved at any time. In addition to thespacious main entrance, a second, smaller exit ensures good ventilation. Donna offers the perfect balance for outdoor enthusiasts who prioritise more space, durability and reliable weather protection.
Safety Instructions
Allow the tent and groundsheet to air dry completely before storing to prevent odors and mildew from forming. Always push the pole segments in as far as they will go to prevent damage to the poles. Please note that the packaging is not a toy and does not belong in the hands of babies and small children.
Our Verdict
The Wechsel Donna 2P sits in that middle ground where weight, space and usability feel properly considered. At 1750g, excluding pegs and bags, it is not chasing the absolute lowest weight. The tapered floor and steep side walls create a livable space with room enough for two wide pads and enough headroom to sit up and get changed without contorting yourself.
The external pole structure makes a clear difference in poor weather. The all-in-one pitch is quick to set up and means you're not exposing the inner to bad weather while pitching. Colour coding helps with intuitive pitching. The freestanding build also adds flexibility when pitching on harder ground or adjusting position in camp.
One point worth noting is the layout. The Donna is a two-person tent with two doors, but only one main vestibule. That vestibule is large enough to store gear for two, and the second door means each person can get in and out without having to climb over the other during the night. Having a single vestibule also frees up internal space, so the inner feels more open and comfortable for two. It works particularly well for solo use, where the extra room becomes a real advantage. That said, the single-vestibule design may not suit everyone, especially if you prefer separate storage areas on both sides.
Ventilation is provided by dual spacer bars at the top of each door and large mesh-covered openings at the foot and head end of the tent. Airflow is better than many similar domes, though condensation still needs managing in damp conditions.
Materials strike a typical lightweight balance. The 15D fly and inner keep weight down, while the 30D floor with a 5000mm rating adds reassurance on wetter ground. The DAC Featherlite NFL poles and overall finish give a solid feel.
Packability is another strong point. The ability to separate the poles and compress the body makes it easier to share the weight with a partner, to fit into smaller packs or bikepacking setups.
