Our Verdict
At 58g for the medium, it’s light without feeling flimsy, and the five-panel construction gives it a solid fit. The mesh side panels help manage heat well, and the short brim is just right — enough coverage without blocking peripheral vision on narrow tracks. I appreciate that it packs down easily without creasing awkwardly, and the quick-drying fabric helps mitigate sweat. The adjustable rear strap holds firm even on blustery ridgelines.
