The main feature upgrade for 2023 is a doozy. We call it the DirtSaw™. It’s a total rethink of how to use a small hand tool to make a hole in the ground.
Our Verdict
The Dirtsaw is the new incarnation of The Deuce of Spades, a tool with a legendary status in the outdoor community. The Dirtsaw is a more gnarled update. It’s an innovative tool for ground excavation (digging a hole to poo in). Its distinctive design, triangular teeth and rounder handle make it much better at digging in challenging terrains like hard dirt, clay, and gravel. Furthermore, the recessed tooth design means getting through tough roots and rocks is easier. It's an invaluable addition to any kit list; it weighs little and takes up no pack space, a necessity for those who practise Leave no Trace.
