Our Verdict
The Ferrino Den 2 weighs in at just over 1.1 kg and utilises trekking poles instead of standard tent poles, making it a smart solution for those already carrying poles and seeking to reduce pack weight. It's a-fram design provides a low profile, with good stability and ventilation thanks to twin end vents and mesh door panels. Setup is quick, though careful guying is needed for maximum stability.
The interior measures approximately 200 × 110 cm, with a single entrance. It works best as a roomy solo shelter but will accommodate two in a pinch, just be prepared to clamber if one needs to step out in the night.
The vestibule is modest, limiting gear storage and making it impractical for cooking in poor weather. While the canopy can be extended using two additional trekking poles, this feature won’t be usable if you're travelling solo without spare poles.
