The Core Mitts are designed to provide active insulation. They add warmth but are highly breathable and focused on wicking moisture and helping to regulate body temperature when exercising.

Ultra-light Core range introduces a new type of insulation, synthetic plume woven directly onto a single layer mesh fabric. Made entirely from PRIMALOFT® NEXT Insulating Fabric Technology the core range offers the same warmth as other synthetic insulation products but with half the weight and better breathability.
ADAPTABLE INSULATION: The insulation plume is directly woven on to a mesh fabric. When used as the outer layer excessive heat and moisture is quickly dumped. Alternatively, seal the mesh holes by adding a shell or layer trapping in the heat.
HALF THE WEIGHT & PACK SIZE: A single mesh fabric holds the insulation plume in place reducing the need for two extra fabric layers and halving the weight and pack size.
FINEST QUALITY SYNTHETIC INSULATION: PRIMALOFT® make the best synthetic insulation. The NEW PRIMALOFT® NEXT Insulating Fabric Technology uses 58% post-consumer recycled material, it is bluesign® and Oeke-Tex® approved.
Our Verdict
OMM's Core Mitts uses Primaloft's Next insulating fabric which is designed to add a layer of warmth for cold weather exercise. The focus of the material is breathability, moisture management and helping regulate your body temperature as much as possible when running or hiking. It does a great job in this way and is a great piece of kit for colder conditions. The fabric provides zero protection from the wind so you might need to consider an over-mitt if there's a cold wind.
These mitts are so lightweight and have a small pack size so they are easy to stow in a pocket when not needed. Although lacking in wind protection they are an effective piece of kit for layering with in colder conditions.
