Our Verdict
At 166g per pole, the Compact 3 Pro feels noticeably lighter in the hand than many traditional aluminium trekking poles, which really helps over longer distances. The 132cm maximum length also makes them practical for many trekking pole shelters, while the extended grip gives a little more flexibility on steeper terrain. I like that the aluminium shafts still feel more forgiving around rocks than very light carbon poles.
The twist-lock system keeps the weight low, although it does need occasional cleaning in muddy or gritty conditions.
