Our Verdict
At 184g (Medium), the Castaway Shirt feels light and easy to wear, with organic cotton fabric that gives it a soft feel and feels great next to the skin on warm days. I like the relaxed fit and the box pleat on the back, which helps with airflow in warm weather and prevents it from feeling restrictive. The chest pocket is simply useful for small essentials, while the camp collar and faux-wood buttons add a touch of retro charm.
The trade-off is that cotton dries more slowly than technical hiking fabrics. For travel, campsites and easy summer walks, however, I think this works best as a comfortable layer for travel and low-output days.
