Our Verdict
The Julbo Camino M Spectron 3 sunglasses keep things simple and effective. At 24g, they’re light enough for all-day wear, and the Category 3 lenses (12% VLT) strike a good balance for exposed ridgelines, alpine terrain, or long summer crossings. I found the lens clarity to be excellent in strong sunlight, with no strain or distortion. The wraparound shape, combined with removable side shields, did a great job of cutting out glare from the periphery.
The fit is snug but comfortable thanks to the curved arms and flexible frame, and they stayed secure whether I was wearing a hat or moving at pace. These aren’t photochromic, so I’d probably reach for something else in mixed forest or variable weather — but when the light’s steady, they do exactly what I need them to.
