Our Verdict
The Caldbeck Short feels designed for long days on the move where breathability and unrestricted movement matter most. At 198g (Medium), the four-way stretch fabric keeps the shorts feeling light and comfortable, while the articulated cut and diamond gusset help maintain mobility on steeper terrain.
The fit strikes a good balance between streamlined and relaxed, and the low-profile waist adjustment sits comfortably under a pack hip belt. I also like the restrained pocket layout, particularly the zipped thigh pocket, which remains easy to access while walking.
