Our Verdict
Haglofs’ well renowned LIM GTX Jacket has been updated – it has received some design tweaks but thankfully it still uses the same fabric; GORE-TEX Paclite® PLUS 2.5 layer. This makes it extremely light weight, waterproof, windproof and breathable. It's treated with a DWR free from flurocarbons which is better for the environment.
Although the Paclite is still designed to be lightweight and low bulk for when it's stowed away the 'Plus' version of the fabric is much more breathable and therefore more comfortable when you're wearing it for extended periods of time.
The main update on this jacket is reduction of the single chest pocket and the additional hand pockets, as well as some reflective detailing for safety. The simple, yet comfortable cuffs and lack of pit zips allow the weight to be kept to a minimum – weighing in at just 270g for a size Medium. The hood is well fitting and has good adjustability. We've brought our Mimic material technology – renowned for high performance and superb insulation in all conditions – into the L.I.M range, creating a super-lightweight and highly protective hooded jacket that's enhanced with a graphene-powered nano baffle. Weighs next to nothing and is extremely packable, but still offers essential protection in variable weather conditions.

Our Verdict
Haglofs' L.I.M Mimic Insulated Hooded Jacket uses the Less Is More mantra to deliver a lightweight synthetic jacket that provides a decent amount of warmth for the weight. Haglofs own Mimic Platinum insulation is a new stage in synthetic insulation that is graphene enhanced to boost the warmth without adding weight. This jacket uses 169g of Mimic Platinum insulation which is combined with a super lightweight 10D outer fabric that provides enough warm for regular wear across a range of activities.
Features are limited in the quest for low weight but there are still two good sized pockets for storage, elasticated hem, cuffs and hood, which provides enough coverage. The nano baffle construction provides even warmth and reduces the chances of cold spots developing. The looks/style of the jacket isn't going to be for everyone but the performance should certainly make it worth considering. - Reviewed by Ultralight Outdoor Gear
