Turbat: Minimalist Lightweight Clothing & Equipment
Jul 13, 2020
Who Are Turbat?
Turbat has carved out a unique niche since its inception in 2014. This Ukrainian brand specialises in lightweight, compact, and versatile gear designed for travellers who prefer to explore with just a 30-litre backpack, regardless of destination. Founded by a group of passionate globetrotters, Turbat was born from first-hand experiences ranging from Namibia to Papua New Guinea. These journeys revealed a gap in the market for travel gear that could meet the needs of minimalist adventurers.

Nox Down Sleeping Bag Range
The Turbat Nox Down Sleeping Bag is an excellent choice that offers lightweight comfort and versatility. As the lightest and most compact option in Turbat's range, the Nox range is filled with 750-fill power high-quality Ukrainian goose down for an excellent warmth-to-weight ratio.
One of the Nox's most notable features is its long L-shaped zipper, which transforms the sleeping bag into a large blanket. This design is perfect for warm nights when full coverage isn't necessary, offering the flexibility to regulate your temperature easily. The increased foot box space enhances comfort, providing more room for your feet and improving overall insulation.
Additional features include a pillow pocket, which helps keep your pillow or bundled clothing in place throughout the night, and a wide collar that adds an extra layer of warmth around your neck. The Nox can also be connected to another sleeping bag, making it a versatile option for couples or groups who want to sleep together.
Constructed from durable 20D nylon Rip-stop fabric with a DWR finish, the Nox is designed to withstand the rigours of outdoor use while providing excellent water resistance. The included storage bag ensures that the down maintains its loft and performance during long-term storage.
Overall, the Turbat Nox Down Sleeping Bag is a superb choice for hikers and adventurers seeking a lightweight, versatile, and compact sleeping solution for their summer outings. Its combination of innovative features and high-quality materials makes it a standout option.

The loose fit allows air to circulate, which helps keep things cooler during long, sunny days.
UPF50+ protection adds versatility, and the sleeve roll-up tabs are simple but effective for switching between coverage and airflow. The fabric dries quickly and holds up well to repeated wear, making it easy to pack for longer trips or use daily.

Vatra Synthetic Sleeping Bags
The Turbat Vatra Synthetic Sleeping Bag is a versatile, budget-friendly summer and spring camping option. One of Ukraine's most popular sleeping bags, the Vatra features an updated design with a new, bright exterior and an elongated central zipper, enhancing aesthetics and functionality.
Filled with Thermolite Quallo synthetic insulation, this sleeping bag offers durability and reliable performance, making it an excellent choice for various conditions. The Vatra’s anatomical shape and adjustable hood ensure a snug, comfortable fit, effectively retaining warmth.
The Vatra is relatively light for a synthetic sleeping bag, making it easy to carry on extended trips. Its weight and affordable price offer great value for hikers and campers who need a reliable, all-weather sleeping solution without breaking the bank. The included compression bag further enhances its portability, reducing its size for easy packing.
Constructed from durable 70D 190T Nylon for the outer shell and 190T Polypongee Polypongeener lining, the Vatra is built to withstand the rigours of outdoor use while providing a comfortable interior. Shanta Pro 2 Tent
The Turbat Shanta Pro 2 Tent sits in a practical middle ground, combining a straightforward design with durable materials. It is not a new redesign but part of the Pro line, which refined the original layout with a hubbed pole structure and improved usability.
The hubbed pole design creates a more open interior, with space to sit up and get changed, enough width for two mats, and room to organise kit. Dual doors and vestibules simplify access and provide ample space to manage gear.
Pitching is quick and intuitive. The freestanding structure keeps things simple, and once tensioned, the tent holds its shape well.
Materials are a clear focus. The lighter 20D flyweight down, while the impressive 68D floor adds durability and confidence for router trails and UK weather. At 1863g for the fly, inner and poles, it is not aimed at the ultralight crowd, but the trade-off is a more robust feel and fewer concerns about rough ground.
Ventilation is balanced rather than open. The mix of fabric and mesh panels provides airflow without feeling exposed, though condensation will still depend on conditions. Internal storage is well considered, with ceiling loops and pockets making it easy to organise smaller items.
This is a dependable shelter that prioritises ease of use and durability, suited to regular three-season use where reliability and straightforward setup matter as much as pack weight. The price also makes this tent very appealing.
