The Women’s Montane Dart Lite long sleeve base layer is the lightest weight item in the Dart range and is perfect for warm weather activities, high exertion sports or as part of a layering system. The 100% recycled APEX PK Eco fabric doesn’t have much stretch and fits where it touches, so isn’t highly compliant with the movement of the body during activity. The plus side is that fabric won’t mis-shape over time and use. Flat seems connect the front and back panels to the side panels, this not only give this a nice athletic look, but also reflect in its comfort against the skin. One small logo on the arm doesn’t scream the brand name and is subtle and in fitting with the garment.
The sizing of this item is pretty true to size. I wore the UK12 / M and found the shoulders to be quite roomy but this gives the space for movement, especially when on the bike and reaching forward. The sleeves taper to the cuff and are tight fitting in the lower arm, so don’t try pushing your sleeves up, they won’t get very far!
I chose this Dart Lite long sleeve T shirt for my recent late summer multiday bike trip. The lightweight fabric worked well under a waterproof on the first day when the weather was damp and as a stand-alone layer when the sun came out. It wicked away sweat from the skin and dried quickly. I certainly tested the Polygeine odour control and after three days in the saddle it didn’t have any apparent smell.
