Mammut Lenni Shirt Review - “If you want a super comfortable trekking shirt that looks good, dries fast and stays smelling sweet then look no further .”

When walking in hot and sunny conditions, a lightweight trekking shirt offers more comfort and sun protection than most baselayer tops and T-shirts. The collar helps to cover the neck and when using trekking poles long sleeves protect the arms from sun exposure.
On a recent trip to Mallorca to trek the GR221, I used the Mammut Lenni Short-sleeve and Long-sleeve shirts in extremely hot and sunny conditions. I came home seriously impressed with their performance.
The fabric used in the Lenni shirt is superb, it’s lightweight and very comfortable. They are made using two-thirds recycled polyester which has a lovely soft feel.
The fabric is also incredibly quick-drying. In the hot conditions, the shirt would get pretty wet under my backpack from sweat but if we stopped for a break and I took off my pack, the Lenni shirt would be completely dry by the time we set off again. I could hand wash the shirt at the end of a day walking and it would be dry in time for dinner. Even better, the material seems to be virtually crease-free so after washing or when taken straight out of my pack it would look great.
In the past, I’ve often found that tops using man-made fibres get quite smelly on longer treks, even after handwashing they still don’t smell too good. The Lenni shirt has a HeiQ Fresh treatment to the fabric which is silver free and works by absorbing the smells. It really does work! Even after a long day trekking the shirt still smelt fine despite being saturated in sweat and filth from the dusty conditions. The water when handwashing the shirt at the end of a long day trekking was often disgusting but the Lenni still looked good and smelt fresh.
They look great so I’ve carried on using the Lenni shirts every day as well as for trekking and hiking. If you want a super comfortable
