DownWool 2.0 Winter Bags

DownWool® is a patented combination of down and wool. With DownWool® 2.0, the insulation has been further developed: thanks to the optimised wool structure, it now achieves the low weight and small pack size of classic sleeping bags – while being significantly less sensitive to high humidity.

● Moisture is the biggest weakness of conventional sleeping bags. Moisture can impair the loft, especially in pure down.

● DownWool® This is precisely where it comes in. The combination of high-quality down and regulating wool. It supports a dry climate and prevents heat loss in high humidity.

The result is a new generation of natural insulation – lightweight, climate-stable and designed for real, changeable outdoor conditions.

DownWool 2.0 Technology

● 70% high-quality duck down. Provides high heat output with minimal weight.

● 30% natural wool It absorbs moisture, stabilises the loft and creates a balanced wearing climate.

DownWool Subzero 2.0 | -8C Sleeping Bag weighs: 946g (regular)

The DownWool Subzero 2.0 uses a hybrid insulation, combining 700+ fill power duck down with wool, with around 399g of fill. Traditional down offers strong warmth and compressibility, but can struggle in damp conditions and feel overly warm at times. The addition of wool helps manage moisture more effectively, maintaining insulation in humid environments while creating a more stable temperature through the night. The comfort limit of -8°C feels a little generous, but it works well for autumn and early spring use, when paired with an appropriate mat.

The mummy cut is designed for efficiency but offers a slightly more forgiving fit than many others, allowing some movement in the bag without significantly compromising warmth. This balance helps maintain thermal performance while improving comfort over longer nights. A two-way J-zip provides good control over ventilation, helping regulate temperature as conditions change.

Weight and pack size sit slightly above comparable down-only bags, reflecting the added focus on moisture management and comfort. Build quality is solid, with durable fabrics and a well-considered feature set, including a pillow compartment, a 3D thermal collar, and practical storage options.

Material & Construction

● Outer and Inner Fabric: Material: Uncoated, ultra-light, durable, wind-resistant and recycled 20 denier 380T nylon – comfortable against the skin.

Filling: 399 g DownWool® made from 70% high-quality duck down (90/10 with fluffiness 700+ cuin) and 30% mechanically finished wool.

Material Labelling: Shell 100% polyamide, filling 70% down/30% wool – contains non-textile parts of animal origin.

Key Features

Chamber Construction: H-chambers, V-shaped (on the top), pre-shaped foot area with several chambers.

● Pillow Compartment: If you put a fleece jacket, for example, into the pillow compartment, the sleeping bag has a non-slip pillow.

● Adjustable Hood with Face Baffle: The thermal bulge adapts perfectly to the shape of your head. When it's cold, only a small hole remains open, reducing heat loss from the face.

● 3D Thermal Collar: closes automatically in the zipper area, so that no cold bridge is created in the zipper area.

● 2-Way Anti-Snag Zipper and Lined Robust Webbing: This makes it even easier to operate the zipper without pinching the outer fabric.

Foot Ventilation System: The innovative zipper design allows your feet to rest comfortably on top of the sleeping bag and excess heat to escape.

DownWool Ice 2.0 | -8C Sleeping Bag weighs: 1193g (regular)

The DownWool Ice 2.0 uses a hybrid insulation, combining 700+ fill power down with wool, with around 632g of fill. This approach addresses the known weaknesses of traditional down, which can lose performance in damp conditions and feel overly warm at times. The addition of wool helps manage moisture more effectively, maintaining insulation in humid environments and creating a more stable temperature through the night. The comfort limit of -8°C feels realistic for light UK winter use when paired with an appropriate mat.

The mummy cut offers a slightly more forgiving fit than many, allowing for more unrestricted movement without significantly compromising warmth. The two-way J-zip provides good control over ventilation, and features like the shaped hood and draft collar help maintain consistent insulation.

Weight and pack size are higher than those of a comparable down-only bag, but this reflects the added focus on moisture management and comfort. Build quality is solid, with durable fabrics and well-considered features that support long-term use.
