Our Verdict
The Crag Lake SL3 Tent uses 100% recycled materials to make the main body, the floor, and the fly. All are made from double ripstop recycled nylon; this makes the tent incredibly hard-wearing and sustainable.
It’s simple to set up; the all-in-one pole system is intuitive. Secure the pole at each corner and clip the inner onto the pole; The Rain fly then buckles onto the inner; very simple and means you get a torte pitch every time. As the tent is free-standing, you can pitch your tent and then find the ideal spot to bed down for the night.
The tent’s high sides create a vast internal space, 42 inches high at the head end of the tent, so you have plenty of room to sit up, cook, and get changed. You also have four pockets, two oversized mesh ceiling pockets and two mesh corner pockets to organise your gear and make the tent feel more homely.
The vestibules are an impressive size, with lots of room for gear storage or to cook in, and as it’s a two-door tent, you also have two vestibules.
This is a quick, easy shelter to erect; it has plenty of internal space and space for gear in the vestibules. It's reasonably low weight, especially if you and a partner split it. Finding a better three-person tent at this price point would be hard.
