The Azzurro is our first full-wrap performance frame designed for guides and professionals in harsh water environments.

Inspired by classic guide frames and European alpine racing silhouettes, the Azzurro combines full peripheral coverage and world-class lens performance needed for professionals and guides moving around all types of water.
Unlike conventional performance sunglasses, the Azzurro has no arms to pinch under hats or helmets. The built-in cord gently secures the frame, preventing the sunglasses from slipping without creating side pressure. The glasses can be worn all day with zero discomfort or pinching.
Without arms and constructed from TR-90 - a lightweight, ultra-durable, aerospace-grade frame material, Ombraz are an indestructible piece of gear - you can stow them easily in a pocket, dry bag, tackle box, pack, or boat compartment without worrying about broken hinges or snapped temples. The Azzurro is backed by Ombraz’s lifetime warranty, affirming our long-standing durability promise.
Upgraded ZEISS Tri-Pel lens coatings provide hydrophobic and oleophobic performance to repel water, oil, sweat, sunscreen, salt, and smudges while delivering world-class optical clarity.
The Azzurro debuts a revamped nose pad system with a rubber ligature and newly designed rubber nose pads, created to improve grip, comfort, and stability in wet, hot, and high-output environments.
Accessory nose pad risers and side shields are currently not available for the Azzurro.
Our Verdict
Ombraz offers a unique take on the traditional pair of sunglasses. By removing the arms and replacing them with a nylon cord, Ombraz has created glasses that are not only more resilient but much more comfortable and better suited to life on the trail, biking, climbing, and skiing.
Without the arms, the glasses are significantly more comfortable. These sunglasses are designed to provide a comfortable and secure fit. They won't slip or fall off your face, even when you're wearing a helmet. The adjustable cord allows you to customize the fit, so they hug your face perfectly. You can also be assured that the arms won't break off easily.
Initially, it's common to pull the cord too tightly. However, it's better to leave some wiggle room, as this provides a more comfortable fit.
Included with every pair of glasses is a slim, lightweight cloth case which also contains a glasses cleaning cloth. This design allows you to keep your glasses clean during a hike without having to wipe them with your dirty base layer.
All Italian-made Ombraz are ANSI Z87.1 certified, meeting rigorous impact-resistance and optical-clarity standards to ensure maximum eye protection in demanding environments.

The Azzurro features ZEISS’ most premium-lens material, polyamide, with specific tints and mirrors optimized for every water environment.
- Polarised Grey with Blue Mirror: Blocks 91% of light. Built for the brightest water environments, this lens is designed for offshore fishing, sailing and paddling. The grey base lens preserves natural color and reduces overall brightness. The blue mirror manages harsh light reflected from open water. Also optimized for skiing, snowboarding and mountaineering
- Polarised Rose with Copper Mirror: Blocks 86% of light. A high-contrast option for variable light, this lens is designed for fly fishing, and sight-fishing. The rose with copper mirror helps enhance contrast depth and definition, making this lens useful for reading surface texture, shoreline structure, cloud cover transitions, and uneven terrain around water. Also optimized for backpacking, climbing and cycling.
- Polarised Grey with Green Mirror: Blocks 88% of light. Built for bright-sun conditions on inshore and deep-water, a do-it-all option for users who want neutral color, glare control and a subtler visual profile than blue mirror. The grey base keeps color perception natural. The green mirror adds bright-light performance for offshore fishing and kayaking. Also optimized for golfing, running and cycling.
- Polarised Yellow with Green Mirror: Blocks 81% of light. Built for variable-light conditions on freshwater, this lens is designed for fly fishing, sight-fishing and white-water. The yellow lens increases contrast and depth perception. The green mirror balances glare control. Also optimized for camping, hiking and trail-running.
