UOG TOP PICK - Abisko Lite Fleece This lightweight fleece is compact and can be easily stored away when not in use. It is my preferred type of fleece for most outdoor activities, especially hiking and camping. It is not a technical fit, so it has more room and give. As a general-purpose mid-layer it’s one of our favourites and a top picks.

Our Verdict
This is my preferred fleece type for most outdoor activities, especially hiking and camping; it’s not a technical fit, meaning has a little more room and a little more give. It’s definitely more suited to warm weather, but this would be the perfect layer on a nice summer’s day with a little breeze; it’s also a good additional layer around the campsite for an instant layer of warmth, low profile thumb holes are a nice touch, that helps cinch the flees on cool evenings.
The grid-backed fleece promotes good airflow, keeping you cool and moving moisture away from the body, the feels soft against your skin so would be comfortable to wear as a base-layer or a mid-layer The fleece has three zipped pockets, two hand-warming pockets and a chest pocket. All are mesh lined, which again promotes good airflow, and all are positioned to be accessed with a rucksack on.
