Our Verdict
At 399g (UK 12), the 2026 Namche Gore-Tex Jacket uses a 75D 3-layer ePE Gore-Tex construction with a 28,000mm hydrostatic head, giving it a more reassuring feel for regular hill use than lighter, more delicate shells. The full pit zips are a big plus too, giving you an easy way to dump heat on steeper climbs.
I’m 6ft 1in and found the Large fitted me well with room for bulkier winter layers, although I think I could size down if I wanted a trimmer fit. The hood adjustment is particularly good, with separate crown and face cinches, and I much prefer being able to adjust the face opening externally.
The two large hand pockets, internal zipped pocket and adjustable cuffs keep the rest of the design straightforward.
