Lightweight, bike-ready shelter with improved packability and a refined balance of space and performance
Nemo says:
Dragonfly™ Bikepack OSMO™ is an ultralight, freestanding tent built for bikepacking, canoe trips, and any adventure where pack-down size matters. Now featuring an improved pole structure and a unique crossbar that expands interior space, this tent travels light while letting you truly stretch your wings.
Its stronger, more stable pole set pairs with NEMO’s custom Elements™ hardware, including a forged hub design that angles the crossbar “wings” upward before tensioning. This Precurve™ system creates a near-horizontal roof and generous headroom across the tent, not just at the peak. Axial™ Lite corner anchors simplify rainfly attachment, making setup quick and effortless.
Inside, Dragonfly Bikepack OSMO™ is as resilient as it is roomy. Its solution-dyed, PFAS-free proprietary fabric repels water, resists tearing, and stays taut even in heavy rain. Generous doors and spacious vestibules pair with a Landing Zone™ storage tub to keep gear protected from mud. A gear loft, multiple pockets, and the Nightlight Pocket™ provide organization and soft, even illumination from your headlamp. A configurable daisy chain inside or out helps dry wet gear or keep essentials in reach.
When it’s time to move, the tent packs neatly into its bike-optimized dry bag, sized for easy packing and secure attachment to your headtube and handlebars—no wobble, no hassle. Covered by NEMO’s Adventure Forever Guarantee™, Dragonfly Bikepack OSMO™ is designed to keep your journey smooth, whether on two wheels or by water.
Our Verdict
The Nemo Dragonfly OSMO Bikepacking 2P Tent builds on the standard design with a clear focus on packability and versatility. The updated OSMO fabric improves water resistance and reduces stretch when wet, helping the fly stay taut in prolonged rain and maintaining a more consistent pitch in damp conditions.
The revised pole structure, including shorter pole sections, is a key difference. It allows the tent to pack down to a smaller size, making it easier to fit into tighter spaces on a bike or in a frame bag. The included roll-top dry bag is designed to be mounted on handlebars or a frame.
The updated pole design with a crossbar increases usable headroom across the inner, not just at the peak. The shape still tapers, but the added volume at the head end makes it easier to sit up and organise kit. For one person, it feels spacious with room for gear inside. For two, it is workable, but sadly, it will not accommodate 2 wide pads.
For me, one of the biggest upgrades is the amount of storage. The integrated gear loft and generous pockets provide ample space for smaller items, keeping important items organised and within reach. The Nightlight Pocket is a nice touch, defusing light and giving the tent a cosy glow.
Setup is straightforward and intuitive; the freestanding structure and updated pole structure create a clean pitch that requires less adjustment, and the revised fly attachment feels secure. Packed size is compact, and the ability to split the load makes it easy to carry between two.
Ventilation is strong, with large mesh panels and dual doors allowing good airflow. Condensation is generally well managed, though airflow will depend on how open the tent is pitched. The included Landing Zone adds a practical way to keep gear off wet ground in the vestibule.
At 1305g for the fly, inner and poles, the focus remains on keeping weight low while improving packability and usability.
