Our Verdict
At just 45g, the Patagonia Balaclava provides full head, neck and face coverage without the bulk of heavier winter headwear.
Patagonia has moved to their Capilene Midweight fabric, which keeps the focus on warmth, breathability and moisture management during active use.
The hinged face panel can be pulled up over the nose and mouth when you need more protection, then quickly dropped below the chin as you warm up. Flat seams also help keep it comfortable underneath a helmet or beanie.
