A low, direct trail shoe built for moving quickly over rough ground.
Inov8 says:
Our new show to push the pace over the roughest, most technical trails.
Faster, sleeker, more protective, with a true natural feel, the Trailtalon Speed V2 is designed with a dialled-in fit for superior control and comfort when it's a need-for-speed race or training run.
The fully redesigned upper features our unique micro-dot 3D print overlays that flex and move naturally with your feet while also protecting from rocks and trail debris.
New heel construction increases lockdown and comfort, while the upgraded speed tongue helps shed weight.
Natural cuff asymmetric heel profile follows natural offset position of medial and lateral ankle protrusions for enhanced comfort. Patent pending and registered design.
Our Verdict
The Inov8 TrailTalon Speed V2 weighs235g (per UK6 shoe) and keeps you close to the ground with an 11mm/7mm stack and 4mm drop.
I like the combination of the broad Natural Fit forefoot and the redesigned heel, which gives the shoe a more secure feel without squeezing the toes.

The 6mm Graphene-Grip lugs give it plenty of bite on softer, more technical trails, while the Meta-Plate adds protection without taking away too much ground feel.
There isn't much cushioning here, so this is a speed-focused shoe rather than an all-day comfort option for hiking trails. The revised upper and heel make the V2 feel more refined, but its low, precise ride still defines it.
