Our Verdict
Osprey's Womens Tempest 6 Waist Pack isn't exactly ultralight but do you need it to be for this type of product? The key to a good waistpack is stability since the wearer is likely to be moving fast through mountain terrain, and the Tempast waist pack delivers in that respect with wide padded hip fins and a wide hip belt it hugs your hips.
There's an attempt at getting some airflow between the pack and your back but we are not sure how effective this is going to be. Feature-wise you have a large 6litre main compartment, an additional flat front pocket and the means to carry two water bottles. In addition you can secure a waterproof or similar using the compression straps at the front.
Reasonably sized hip belt zipped pockets complete the feature set, its a good waist pack.
