The Speedgoat 7 GTX takes the same responsive, well-cushioned platform and adds waterproof protection for colder, wetter conditions.

Our Verdict
At 278g (per UK8 shoe), the Speedgoat 7 GTX is only slightly heavier than the standard version, but adds a GORE-TEX Invisible Fit membrane and a more durable Cordura upper. I like Invisible Fit here because it is bonded directly into the upper, helping keep the shoe more flexible and reducing the pressure points.
The EVA midsole still gives the shoe a noticeably smoother, more responsive feel underfoot. At the same time, the Vibram Megagrip outsole with 5mm Traction Lugs provides plenty of grip on wet and loose ground. The toggle lacing is another nice addition for making quick adjustments, although standard laces are included if you prefer them.
The fit still leans narrow through the toe box, so, If you are between sizes or prefer a little more room for foot swelling on longer days, I’d err on the side of caution and go up half a size.
