Our Verdict
The Rab Ramshaw Hoody delivers dependable warmth and excellent comfort through its mid-weight Thermic fleece, which feels soft against the skin and breathes well during steady activity. 445g (UK12), it sits on the heavier side for a grid-style fleece, offering substantial warmth and a reassuringly durable feel without excessive bulk.
Rab calls this a relaxed fit; however, I find the fit a little too relaxed. For context, I take a large in every Rab product, but found this to be oversized —perfect for lounging about at home —but it would be too billowy for me on the hills, so I sized down to a medium, which fit me much better. Sizing down is the consensus among everyone here in the UOG office, whether it's the men's or women's version, so please bear that in mind.
The full-length zip, secure pockets and adjustable hood make it adaptable across conditions. Construction quality feels solid, with tidy stitching and a durable finish. A dependable fleece for varied use, best suited to those who value comfort and layering versatility.
