A versatile soft shell pant, perfect for year-round mountaineering and trekking.
Mountain Equipment says:
The Chamois Pants are ideal for hillwalkers, scramblers, and mountaineers who require a midweight mountain pant that can handle technical terrain and varying temperatures. They’re perfect for lengthy days above the tree line.
Our Verdict
The Women’s Chamois Pants feel purpose-built for mixed mountain days — the EXOLITE 210 fabric is breathable yet blocks wind well, with just enough stretch to move easily over steep ground. The Alpine fit is trim without being tight, and articulated knees add to their range of motion. At 385g for a UK 10, they sit firmly in the midweight softshell category, making them ideal for cool-weather hiking on breezy ridges. I liked the mesh-lined thigh pockets that double as vents. The integrated belt sits neatly under a hipbelt, and the ankle gussets work well with chunkier boots.
