Built to offer lightweight performance, the Caelum Pant has been engineered to excel on the trail. Hardwearing VECTOR LITE offers lightweight breathability that moves with the wearer with it's 2 way stretch construction. Freedom of movement is enhanced alongside the fabric with carefully designed fit which includes refine gusset and articulated construction. Essential storage options include open hand pockets and secure zipped thigh and back pockets.
Our Verdict
At 290g (UK12), the Montane Caelum Pants feel light enough for warmer trail days while still giving the coverage and structure I want from proper walking trousers. The VECTOR Lite fabric has enough stretch for steep steps and quick movement, while the updated gusset and pre-shaped fit help avoid that restricted feel you can get from more basic hiking pants.
I like the pocket layout, with open-hand pockets for easy access and zippered thigh and rear pockets for more secure storage. The included belt is useful, but I am even more of a fan that it can be removed, making it easy to swap for one you already use, as, in all honesty, I do not rate this belt. Best for walkers and fast hikers seeking lightweight trousers with mobility, storage and day-long trail practicality.
