Our Verdict
At 394g (Medium), I think this strikes a sensible balance between weather protection and practicality. The 3-layer fabric provides the sort of protection I would want for prolonged bad weather, while the zip vents help manage heat build-up during steep climbs and fast-paced walking.
I particularly like the structured hood with its wired peak, which offers better visibility and protection in wind-driven rain. It is not the lightest waterproof available, but the extra weight brings a more reassuring level of protection. Best for hikers and backpackers regularly heading into wet and exposed conditions.
