With the help of the Universal Valve Adapter, virtually any mat on the market can be connected with the Schnozzel Pumpbag, Mini Pump or Pillow Pump.
The clever adapter fits any flat valve with a diameter between 16 and 25 mm. Likewise, it fits directly into the opening of flat valves with a diameter between 17 and 21 mm.
Since the Universal Valve Adapter is made of high-quality silicone, it remains flexible even at the lowest temperatures, and it is also UV-resistant.
Our Verdict
The Universal Valve Adapter is one of those accessories that makes sense if you already own an Exped Schnozzel pump bag. At 10g, it is tiny, flexible, and easy to keep in a repair kit, and it works with a surprisingly wide range of mat valves. I found it makes the most sense with brands like NEMO, Sea to Summit and Mountain Equipment, where compatibility is usually straightforward. It is worth noting, though, that the name slightly oversells things. It will not neatly fit every mat on the market, and Therm-a-Rest or some Big Agnes valves can still be awkward enough that it is worth checking with us before buying.
