The Hyperlite Mountain Gear Unbound 2P Tent is a lightweight, durable shelter for hikers prioritising weight savings. At just 618g, this single-skin tent is well-suited for fast-paced trips where every gram counts, but weather protection and space remain crucial.
What stands out about the Unbound 2P is its clever design, which maximises airflow, a common issue in single-skin tents. The large air vent and No-See-Um mesh doors promote excellent ventilation, reducing condensation even in more humid conditions. Its 3-D side walls also create additional head and foot room, making the tent feel more spacious than its compact weight suggests.
The tent sets up quickly with two trekking poles, adding versatility and keeping the overall weight low. Its fully taped seams and water-resistant materials ensure solid weather protection, while multiple tie-out points and reinforced corners provide stability in strong winds. The two vestibule doors, held back with tiny magnets, add to the tent's overall luxury feel and allow for easy access and extra gear storage.
