Everything about the Ultra shoe is made to go long. Our Verdict
At 308g (UK8), the OMM Ultra Shoe is a cushioned trail shoe for longer runs, fastpacking and steady mountain mileage. The 30mm stack and 8mm drop give a protective feel underfoot, while the Regula Plus fit suits those with wider feet.
I like the balance of cushioning and control. It feels aimed at keeping you moving over gravel, hard-packed trails and dry mountain paths rather than giving a sharp fell-running feel. The Vibram Litebase outsole with 4mm lugs suits mixed ground well, though deep mud and slick wet rock are not its strongest terrain.
The X-Lace system helps hold the foot securely, but it requires adjustment to avoid pressure points. It works best for runners and fast walkers wanting a protective shoe for longer days on firmer trails.

Material & Construction
- TPU Protection: TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) parts are found in key contact points to aid durability, not limit
