Our Verdict
The MSR Trail Lite Solo has been designed to fit easily in backpacking and hiking rucksacks. To achieve this they have created a nesting design, where the bowl and mug fit neatly inside the pot, with enough room left in the mug for foldable utensils or a small stove like the Pocket Rocket or Micro Rocket.
The pot is not huge but at 1.3 litres it is just enough for the solo backpacker to achieve simple meals with minimal weight. The locking pot handle folds back neatly over the lid once your finished, keeping everything neatly together.
