SOTO has taken it to the extreme with its new titanium cup. Thanks to a special manufacturing process, the wall thickness of the cup can be reduced to 0.3 millimetres and the weight extremely minimized. The mug is made in Japan.
Although the mug appears very fragile, it is suitable for the toughest use as titanium is very robust. It is ideal for expeditions, bikepacking, hiking or camping adventures where every gram counts. It is impact-resistant, scratch-resistant and acid-resistant.
Our Verdict
The SOTO Titanium Mug 450ml stands out for its weight and simplicity. I have been impressed by how refined it feels for such a minimal design. The metal is thin, so a bit of care is needed, but the mug still feels dependable in daily use. The 450ml capacity is ideal for a proper morning brew. The handles are a highlight. I can fit all four fingers through them, which gives a proper, stable grip that you do not often find on mugs this light. It makes the mug noticeably more comfortable to hold for longer periods when holding hot drinks. At 54g, it is easy to justify carrying it, and the clean titanium finish avoids any metallic taste. The balance of weight and capacity makes it a strong option for trail.
