Our Verdict
Vargo's BOT HD 1L is a fantastic idea for versatile kit that does a range of jobs well. For minimalists this is the ideal product - I always carry a kitchen sink (the Sea to Summit 10L one weighs just 58g) which I use to get water for camp - I then just dip into this 10L reservoir with my cooking pot and boil the amount of water I need. If you don't have any other receptacle for water then you'll need to camp close to the source and keep going to it but with the sealed lid this is less of a problem.
This BOT HD 1L version does fit into a water bottle pocket, it's long and thin - not the ideal shape for a pot, but again it does the job. The handles on the HD version make life much easier after cooking and mean it is much more versatile for use as a cup too.
