Our Verdict
The Timp 6 weighs 292g per shoe and builds around Altra’s signature wide toe box, giving plenty of room for natural foot movement without feeling loose. The fit is secure through the midfoot, though it benefits from careful lacing to keep everything locked in on uneven ground. Underfoot, the cushioning is balanced, with a slightly responsive feel that works well over longer days on the trail.
The shift to a Vibram Megagrip outsole provides a clear step-up in grip, handling wet rock and loose terrain with greater confidence than previous versions. The zero-drop platform keeps the ride natural and stable, particularly on mixed trails. The upper is breathable and drains well. It works well for longer distances where comfort and cushioning are the priority.
