A compact emergency shelter for two.
Lifesystems says:
An essential item of safety equipment for any outdoor activity, survival shelters are now increasingly used by mountain rescue teams, outdoor centres, hiking clubs and youth groups. Originally designed as a lightweight survival shelter, they create a surprisingly warm and sheltered internal microclimate.
Our Verdict
The Lifesystems Survival Shelter 2 provides reassuring protection for just 358g. By trapping body heat and shielding occupants from wind and rain, it creates a noticeably warmer environment, making it a valuable addition to a mountain safety kit.
I particularly like the balance between protection and packability. The packed size is small enough to be carried routinely, while features such as the viewing window and waterproof seat panels make it more practical during extended stops.
For fell running, hillwalking and emergency preparedness, it is a thoughtfully designed piece of safety equipment.
