Our Verdict
At 262g, I think the Survival Shelter 1 offers reassuring protection for very little weight. The beauty of the design is its simplicity. There are no poles, pegs or complicated setup; just climb inside and create a sheltered space that cuts wind, rain and heat loss remarkably quickly.
The waterproof seat panels are a thoughtful touch, making stops in poor conditions a little less miserable, while the bright fabric and reflective detailing add a useful safety element. Space is naturally limited, with just enough room for one person and a daysack, so comfort takes a back seat to protection.
