Our Verdict
The Summit Seeker GTX keeps you dry and mobile when fast movement meets wet conditions. At 357g (Medium) this shell sits in a sweet spot between robustness and packability. The updated GORE-TEX ePE membrane represents a significant step forward: lighter, quieter, and more flexible than previous generations, yet still fully waterproof with a 28,000mm hydrostatic head. The trade-off with this new fabric is that it will need reproofing more often than the previous generation of Gore. The fit is trim but leaves enough room for a light midlayer. I appreciated the precision of the single-pull hood adjustment and the raised hand pockets, which remain usable with a harness or pack belt. Pit zips open smoothly and offer decent airflow without gaping. The articulation through the arms does help when reaching overhead or scrambling. It’s not the lightest in its class, but the balance of durability, mobility and thoughtful design choices makes it a strong option for mountain days.
