The Montane Men’s Solution waterproof shell has been engineered with 100% recycled PERTEX SHIELD REVOLVE fabric to deliver uncompromising performance and a PFC-free DWR. From its 100% recycled ¾-length YKK Natulon side zips, to its articulated knees, this pant uses intelligent design to reduce the need for added components, achieve clean lines and adapt to all that the outdoors can throw at it. Because this garment uses energy- and water-saving solution dying, it's even more colourfast, which means it will keep you dry season after season.
Our Verdict
Made from 100% recycled PERTEX SHIELD REVOLVE fabric, the Montane Solution Pants provide robust waterproofing with a hydrostatic head of 20,000mm and a PFC-free DWR finish. They’re lightweight, the medium size weighing just 309g, making them easy to pack and carry on unpredictable weather days. The solution-dyed fabric adds to their environmental appeal, reducing water consumption during production.
The design focuses on comfort and practicality. The elasticated waistband with a bungee cord adjustment ensures a snug fit, and the ¾-length side zips make it simple to put them on over boots. There is only one zip on the sides, so sadly, there is no ventilation option. A storm flap over the side zips ensures excellent protection, effectively sealing out water in heavy downpours. Articulated knees enhance movement, allowing for unhindered strides on rough terrain. While there are no hand pockets, the minimalist design keeps the trousers lightweight and functional.
