Our Verdict
At just 17 g, the SOL Rescue Flash Floating Mirror is impressively light yet robust, made from impact-resistant plastic rather than glass. The reflective aiming aid makes targeting more precise, even one-handed, and once aligned, it produces a bright, sharp flash visible over long distances in full sun. The floating design is a real strength, offering confidence in and out of the water.
The reflection isn’t quite as intense as a glass mirror in low light, but the trade-off for durability and weight is worthwhile. Reliable, well-built and straightforward to use, it’s an easy addition to any emergency kit.
