Our Verdict
The Salewa Smartphone Pouch is a simple way to keep your phone close to hand. At 31g, it’s a lightweight accessory, but the 210-denier Robic ripstop fabric gives it a more protective feel than other shoulder pouches I have used.
I like the insulated construction, as phones can lose battery quickly in cold conditions, and the water-repellent fabric and zip add a bit of reassurance in poor weather. Check the dimensions of your phone for compatibility.
A small stretch mesh pocket on the front would have been a nice addition for frequently used items, such as sunglasses.
For compatible pack straps and medium-sized phones, it looks like a neat, protective option for keeping navigation and photos within reach.
