Using a silk inner sheet reduces the amount of body oils that reach down clusters, over time body oils inhibit the performance of down clusters and reduce the warmth of your sleeping bag.
Mont Silk Inner Sheets are ultralight, super soft and fast drying. They are ideal for travel and hiking and at the end of your trip can be easily machine washed.
Our Verdict
Most silk liners are actually blends, so I like that the Mont Silk Inner Sheet Traveller uses 100% silk. It feels smooth against the skin, packs down very small and weighs just 158g, which is still very reasonable for longer trips.
For me, its main benefit is keeping sweat, oil and dirt away from my sleeping bag rather than adding significant warmth. The ripstop fabric and double-folded seams add durability, while the 90 x 221cm shape gives plenty of room to move and makes it particularly well suited to travel, huts and less restrictive sleeping bags.
