Our Verdict
The Sealskinz Runton socks are designed for cold, wet-weather hikes where warmth and waterproofing are crucial. The Hydrostop technology effectively prevents water ingress, and the Merino wool lining keeps your feet warm without overheating, even in biting wind and wet conditions.
At around 140g for a medium, they are slightly heavier than your typical hiking sock but make up for it with excellent comfort and protection. The padded footbed absorbs impact on rocky paths, while the zonal elastication provides a snug, supportive fit. Thanks to the anti-blister design, I didn’t experience any friction, even on longer hikes. These socks are ideal for tackling challenging, cold-weather hikes that need warmth without sacrificing breathability.
