Our Verdict
At 390g (Medium), the Montane Roco Pull On is a warm, comfortable fleece for steady walking, travel, and everyday outdoor use, rather than for fast-moving mountain days. The THERMO 200 fabric has a soft, brushed feel inside and out, giving it a cosier feel than a lighter grid fleece. I like the relaxed fit, as it makes the pull-on easy to wear over a base layer without feeling restrictive.
The TACTEL overlay across the shoulders and chest is the standout detail, adding useful protection where pack straps tend to wear fleece over time. The quarter-zip provides easy ventilation, while the zippered chest pocket is handy for small essentials. It is not windproof and is bulkier than a technical midlayer, but it makes a lot of sense for walkers who want straightforward warmth and comfort on cooler, steadier days.
