Our Verdict
At around 60 g, the Ridgeline Gaiter is impressively light yet still feels protective. The Matrix fabric offers a good balance of breathability and wind resistance, making it well-suited for fast travel on trails. The fit is close, reducing snagging, and the laminated kicker patches provide useful reinforcement. The hook-and-loop front closure is simple and avoids the weak points of a zip. The underfoot strap and lace hook effectively hold the gaiter in place. Not a piece for deep snow or prolonged boggy ground, but as a low-bulk solution for keeping grit and splash out of shoes while moving quickly, it strikes an excellent balance between comfort and durability.
