On warm nights, the Revelation can lay open as a blanket, and in colder temperatures, you can cinch the adjustable 1/4 length zipper footbox closed. This design allows you to dial in a comfortable night’s sleep in a wide range of different temperatures and climates. The perfection option for active sleepers!
The Revelation is a sleeping quilt, not a sleeping bag, which means it’s designed to be used with a sleeping pad to provide insulation underneath you, between you and the ground. The Revelation doesn’t have a full-length zipper or a built-in hood, saving weight and space in your pack.
Our Verdict
The Revelation APEX 20F builds on Enlightened Equipment’s reputation for refined quilt design, pairing their established platform with CLIMASHIELD APEX synthetic insulation. At around 841g, it offers a dependable alternative to down, sacrificing some packability while maintaining warmth in damp conditions and drying quickly when needed. Synthetic insulation is less compressible than down. It handles moisture far better, making it a practical choice for UK conditions and longer trips where drying gear can be difficult. The comfort limit of around -6°C makes it well suited for use through spring and autumn, with the ability to push into colder conditions when paired with an appropriate mat.
The quilt design allows for a high level of flexibility. It can be fully opened in warmer conditions or secured with the adjustable footbox and pad attachment system to reduce drafts when temperatures drop. The wide cut supports a range of sleeping positions, particularly for those who move around at night.
Build quality is in line with expectations, with lightweight fabrics and a clean, well-executed construction. Overall, this is a well-balanced option for those prioritising versatility and moisture resistance.

- Ultralight nylon fabric. Available in a Forest Green 10D exterior, and a Charcoal 10D interior. Fabric colors might appear slightly different from images shown.
