The updated Elevation Pants blend the movement of leggings with softshell protection, making them perfect for fast-paced mountain days.
Rab says:
A slim, body-contouring fit doesn’t have to come at the expense of durability. Built with a tough double-weave softshell fabric, these versatile pants blend the hardwearing protection of mountain legwear with the comfort and freedom of leggings. Lightweight and unrestrictive, they’re designed for movement on steep hikes, climbs, and scrambles.
Our Verdict
At 337g for a UK 12, these are trim and tough, with Rab’s Matrix double-weave fabric offering stretch and abrasion resistance in equal measure. The fit is snug but active — close enough for layering under waterproofs, yet still breathable and mobile on warmer days. The wide waistband sits flat under a harness or pack, though I found sizing up improved comfort without losing the flattering cut. The thigh pocket is well-placed and fits a phone without bounce, and the water-resistant finish holds up in brief showers or damp vegetation.
