The SlingFin Portal 2 PL Poles are a great option if you’re looking to boost your Portal 2’s strength for more demanding conditions.

If you find yourself frequently pushing the limits of your Portal 2, this replacement pole set replaces the standard 8.7mm DAC NFL pole set with a significantly beefier 10.65mm PL pole set. This is the same pole type we use for our CrossBow and WindSaber mountaineering tents and they can handle some serious weather. Using the heavy duty pole set instead of the standard adds 5.8oz compared to the standard pole set. Please note that the heavy duty pole set does not use a swivel like the standard pole set.
Our Verdict
Weighing 570g for the full set, they feel noticeably sturdier than the standard poles without making the tent feel overbuilt. They add peace of mind in rough weather, especially when camping in exposed or alpine environments. I wouldn’t swap them in for every trip, but they're a worthwhile upgrade if you expect high winds or want to future-proof your shelter.
