Our Verdict
At 92g including batteries, the Petzl Tikkina 300 offers a broad, even beam with three simple brightness levels, making it versatile enough for walking, camp tasks, or general use. The 2025 version adds a lockable button to prevent accidental activation, a battery indicator for easier power checks, and extended burn time at maximum brightness. The hybrid system remains a key strength, as the lamp works equally well with three AAA batteries or the CORE rechargeable unit (not included), giving flexibility depending on trip length and power availability.
Comfort is aided by the symmetrical, washable headband, which sits securely over hats or helmets. In practice, the lamp’s balance of brightness and endurance is impressive for its class, with excellent runtimes at lower settings and adequate high-power output for closer navigation. For those after a simple, durable headlamp at a fair price, it continues to be an excellent option.
