Our Verdict
At 351g (Medium), the Pemi 15 is built for moving quickly with more kit than a typical running vest comfortably handles. The full vest harness holds the 15-litre pack very close to the body, keeping bounce impressively low, while the welded foam back panel gives enough structure to carry heavier loads without the pack collapsing around them.
The fit is noticeably snug, though. There is relatively little give through the harness, and loading the front pockets can make it feel tighter still. Getting the sizing right is important; if you're between sizes, broader through the chest or planning to wear thicker layers underneath, I'd be inclined to size up.
Organisation is strong, particularly the full-length side zip, which gives quick access without repeatedly opening the roll-top. The numerous front pockets keep essentials close at hand, although some 500ml soft flasks fit awkwardly.
The ALUULA 97 construction also brings very good weather resistance and encouraging durability, making this a particularly capable option for long mountain days and minimalist fastpacking.
