Our Verdict
The Capilene Cool Daily Shirt strikes the right balance between comfort, drying speed, and everyday usability. The smooth polyester fabric feels cool against the skin, handles sweat well and dries quickly enough that it rarely feels heavy or damp for long. At 100g (UK 12), it stays light without feeling delicate, and the minimal seam design sits comfortably under pack straps.
I also think the fit works well as an all-round hiking layer, neither overly slim nor excessively loose. The odour control is decent for a synthetic tee, though still not quite at merino levels over repeated wear. For general hillwalking and travel, it is one of Patagonia’s most dependable baselayers.
